Description
Barnacre Cottages are a small, private hamlet of five 5* Gold cottages. Wiinners of many local and national awards. In the Forest of Bowland an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a variety of visiting wildlife, yet just an hours drive from the cities of Manchester and Liverpool.
In an elevated position with fantastic views across the countryside to the coast, the cottages are in our own 14 acres of fields surrounded by woodland.
With great walks from our door along footpaths through woodland and country lanes, just a 35 minute walk to the small market town of Garstang. A 20 minute drive to historic Lancaster, with the castle, Williamson Park, the butterfly house and Dukes Theatre.
Busy Blackpool at the coast with all its attractions, the Tower, Pleasure Beach with roller coasters, zoo, circus and the famous illuminations in Autumn.
Other historic cities, York, Chester and Harrogate, great for days out. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales just a short drive away.
Locally lots of places to visit, great eating places, variety of activities, pony trekking, fishing, golfing - as busy or as relaxing as you like.
Partridge is a cosy, comfortable and fully equipped 5* Gold cottage. The lounge/dining/kitchen area is open plan style. The Mark Wilkinson kitchen is hand painted and has hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Comfy leather sofas in the lounge area, stone fireplace with woodburning stove, Sky tv, dining table for 6. Door to enclosed rear garden with picnic table.
Three bedrooms, one double and two twin rooms, all with fitted furniture. Attractive family bathroom and separate shower room on the ground floor.
On site facilities include an all weather tennis court and childrens playground, with swings, slide, climbing frame and playhouse. Grassed area for ball games.
Free ranging pet chickens and egg collecting. Pet ponies and baby lambs at Easter time.
Resident owners on site.

There’s peaceful countryside to explore in the north and east, famous seaside resorts on the coast as well as two of England’s largest and most vibrant cities, offering some great shopping and exciting nightlife.
There are attractions galore at Blackpool, including the famous Tower, Pleasure Beach amusement park and the amazing Golden Mile. For somewhere quieter, take a trip to genteel Lytham St. Annes, to the old fishing town of Fleetwood or to Morecambe Bay, one of our most important bird sanctuaries. All are just a short drive away when you take one of our Lancashire cottage holidays.
On your doorstep are the cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Don’t miss a trip to Salford Quays, home of the Lowry museum. And the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool has one of the finest art collections in the North. The city of Lancaster is also well worth a visit, with its immense neo-gothic cathedral. For rural tranquillity, make tracks to the Forest of Bowland, which is very popular with walkers and cyclists.
